ADI Limited, a New Brunswick-based engineering and professional consulting services company merged today with architectural firm Sperry & Partners Ltd. of Nova Scotia.

The 19th Annual Design Exchange Awards (DXA) celebrates Canadian design excellence and recognizes the critical role of design in Canada’s economy, environment and quality of life. The DXA is Canada’s only awards program to judge design by results, balancing function, aesthetics, and economic success. Deadline for submissions is September 30, 2010.

The provincial government has introduced a new Green Building Policy intended to significantly reduce the energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of government buildings. The first phase of the policy went into effect on Thursday April 1st, 2010. It applies to all new construction and major renovation projects for Parts I through IV of the public service. The second phase (for organizations that receive funding from the provincial government ) will become effective January 1, 2011.
